I'd rate it no stars but there was no option. Understaffed, no bedside mannor, and far overbooked. I waited 1.5 hrs for my appointment which ended up being 10 minutes long where they threw dog treats at my dog and didn't even palpate my dog that ended up dying a few weeks later. Overcharged double for Rx. Only in it for the money. Never take any animal there.

Dr. Robinson is AMAZING. She was nothing short of God-sent for our puppy. Her loving, expert hand combined with thorough knowledge of animal behaviour means we have the absolute BEST vet in the region. We are blessed to have her.

I have been trying to hold my comment back but I feel like more people need to know this. Even half of a star is too much for this veterany. I was camping with my dog at Nakusp and last night of our stay his back legs started not to function and he was not having a poo. He looked so weak and I was super worried because we had 7 hours of drive ahead of us to go back home. I brought my dog in. Apon entrance the guy at front treated everything like it was a huge surprise that we were there. The vet told me my one year old dog’s eye is not working properly, he is overwheight, he has high blood pressure and he has a broken leg or has stretched something in his knee joint. I was told that’s the reason he can’t poo. She said it’s 3000$ to get that fixed. And if i don’t fix him he will break his other legs. She barely even touched my dog and without any examination concluded my dog’s problem and made me extremely scared and worried so she can make sales from my care towards my dog. After paying around 500$ for emergancy charge, examination and all the random things she recommended, I left the vet. I came all the way to calgary and was told from two different vets and blood examinations and xrays that my dog had constipation, his eyes are working perfectly, his blood is healthy and also he has the perfect weight. Please please if you are not local in Nakusp DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS HELL. Google is more helpful than the “vet” there.
