PORT HARDY ESSO

Partly our fault but also ESSO’s. The gas station’s pump machines are outdated, and do not have a clear marking of whether the gas is diesel or regular. No lit up signs or any markings. We went early in the morning while it was still pretty dark, so full service was not available and it was nearly impossible to tell which pump was regular. Our car ended up abruptly stopping en route because we put in diesel instead of regular gas. We had to deal with towing and repair costs which was around $1000. Since you pay for gas inside and not at the pump, the worker could’ve given us a heads up, because our vehicle is clearly not a diesel-type. Maybe they didn’t know, and this is not the individual’s fault; however, we are writing this review so others dont have to experience what we had to go through. Be careful and ensure you are at the right pump machine. We go to Chevron instead ever since. ESSO should definitely put more obvious signs for different types of gas.
