Been going here for several years now with 2 cats & 2 dogs. Our dog had allergies and a friend recommended Oakbank Veterinary to us. The vet diagnosed the problem changed his diet and small dosage of medication changed our dogs life. He was much happier and had no more skin irritation. We had a cat that was sick and he died there. The level of compassion towards us was beyond what we have ever experienced. I have always felt that my pets were well looked after and nothing was overlooked when it came to their health. The follow up care on any surgeries is amazing and if there are questions or concerns the vets will always spend time on the phone to address them. For those that find it expensive I would say it worth the money to know your pets are getting the best care possible. My preferred vet to see is Dr Fleming but all have been very good.
Sending out a big thumbs down to Oakbank Vet.We had phoned to get our beloved dog Buddy who is truly a family member in to have his eye looked at .We were basically told by one of the staff members at Oakbank Vet, well we have not seen Buddy in a long time and do not have any opening to see him and were directed to go elsewhere. We were hoping to get Buddy in at Oakbank Vet because of there reputation and so called compassion for our pets/family members to have his eye examined. These animals are not able to help themselves and as we tried to reach out and get the help for Buddy from a top notch clinic we were told no opening. This is an eye. They say next to life it's self vision is our greatest gift, well this applies to our pets/family members as well.Your staff has not only not shone a desire to help in this situation but has embarrassed themselves and this clinic.
Everyone was friendly and caring. I have found my new vet
Vet review
Sadly, we had our first experience with Dr Rondeau and the team at Oakbank Animal Hospital during the Covid pandemic. Our 9-year-old blind Labrador Retriever showed signs of illness and our current vet had retired. The team at Oakbank was the first vet we found who was willing to allow one of us into the building with Abby. Dr. Rondeau made a quick diagnosis, offered & supplied treatment options and support to make our girl’s last few weeks comfortable. During these weeks, the staff would call us regularly to see how things were, watch videos of Abby that we sent and spent many, many minutes on the phone with us during several calls, answering our questions, and contacting the insurance provider on our behalf. When it came time to say good-bye to Abby, Dr. Rondeau and the staff were compassionate, caring and sensitive.
Several weeks later, we adopted/rehomed another Labrador Retriever puppy. Upon Raven joining our family, Oakbank Animal Hospital arranged the transfer of her vet files from the previous family’s vet. Raven recently underwent her spay surgery at Oakbank and is recuping nicely. Dr. Rondeau and the team took the time to answer our many questions – about the surgery and future visits, diet, vaccines, etc. - and followed up after surgery with texts and emails to ensure she is healing properly.
Although our “by chance” introduction to Oakbank Animal Hospital started on a sad note, we are very happy with the services they provide. We are looking forward to a long relationship between the team at Oakbank and our newest family member.
Good vet clinic for annual checkups and routine vaccinations. I don't feel good about the way Dr.Rhondeau handled two of our emergency situations. And i want to like her because she was at least very kind. I will also add that though they arent particularly expensive they also arent CHEAPER than city clinics. If you're from the city, stick with a city vet. Sorry. Just being honest.
