beautiful park in Poco, about an hour drive from Vancouver. nice trails. wear good footwear for the slopes. there's a lotta roots and stones on the trail towards the lakes so mind the footing when going up and down the paths. gorgeous natural scenery. good hike. glad we came... fresh air and splendid scenery on a nice sunny day.

This park has one of the more rugged trails compared to other regional parks and sometimes you do need to climb up and down the rocks to finish the loop. You don't necessarily need full gears but a pair of comfortable shoes is a must-have. Also be bear aware and carry a bear bell. I've ran into bears couple times at this park. Quarry Rd parking lot can be full vert fast on sunny weekends and the Lodge Parking is often closed to public.

A great hike of variable difficulty (depending on the viewpoints you choose to visit and whether you decide to go for the full-length hike or try the shorter loop). Along with the spectacular foliage, flowers and fungi, expect to see plenty of wildlife, including frogs, birds and even snakes (as seen in one of my photos). From the topmost viewpoint, the landscape is spectacular, you can see for miles around and catch a glimpse of the river, forest and city beyond the park. Definitely worth the effort it takes to get to the peak.

Beautiful wide open spaces with hiking trails and mature trees all in one gorgeous place. Close to the city but it feels really far away. Saw ducks, frogs and other birds in the marshland. Wish we had gone with more time as it was getting dark and we didn't want to chance getting stuck on the trail. Wear good walking shoes or hiking boots. Uneven terrain can be challenging. We went in dry weather. Would be much more precarious if wet.

I did the loop today for the first time and despite the wild fires smokey views the park and hike was really nice! I took my 5 month old pup there and it's just hard enough to get him tired but not hard enough to cause injuries later on though I did have to carry him once down a step part and then leash him so he would rush down. I did let him off leash and my pup is well behaved so I never had any issues. The park itself is quite nice as it's one of the those hikes you can finish in 1hr easily if you don't stop and it's mostly flat. If you're an avid hiker this will feel like a stroll but if you don't hike much and you want something nice and relaxing that isn't gonna burn you out then this is a great hike. Not too many ppl go there and it's a good thing as we were mostly alone during the whole hike. With the smoke right now you can't see from the top of the view but nevertheless it was worth going up. I would do this hike again and again and my pup enjoyed it. Make sure you make plenty of noise as there are bears there and we saw a big male literally as we arrived.
