Deboville Slough

Great dike trail for biking, bird watching, walking, running. The views here are incredible from sunrise to sunset. Be aware of black bears in this area as they are common especially in the early morning and late evening. The trail on the north side of the slough is more rocky and unpaved, but the views are spectacular once you reach Pitt River.

Visited here with my wife, daughters, and grand-daughter for some fresh air during Covid-19. My oldest jogged, to return to pre-pregnancy weight, while we walked with baby in stroller. Weather was ideal and scenery was beautiful. Physical distancing was practiced by everybody on the trail. Trail is essentially composed of pebbles and compacted dirt so expect it to be a little dusty during dry days. Other than that it's a great place for a nice family walk or bicycling. Also, the river is accessible and would be ideal for calm canoeing, kayaking, or paddle boarding. Keep in mind parking can be limited at certain access points.

Flat gravel pathway - beautiful place for a walk. Limited space in parking lots but lots of street parking in surrounding residential neighbourhoods. Crowded, and many many fast bikes.
