We need oil for the next 20 to 30 years for sure before we green up. Irving provides jobs and contributes to the city and province. Canada's largest refinery and will soon take Alberta oil by tanker. Kudos. Thank you Irving's. Sorry people don't always appreciate you. I do.

Moved to Saint John a few months ago. The smell is awful. Depending which way the wind is blowing and it is usually blowing the fumes towards us. We have to keep our windows closed 90% of the time. We won't be staying here after our year is up.

One star because you do not pay a fair tax rate. NB/ Saint John 'should' be flourishing with the business that Irving has here but this is not the case. You send your monies to Bermuda and you are not taxed on equipment - this is wrong. I am in full support of private business and capitalism, however, it has to be conducted with fairness, especially the residents that put up with some of the down sides like pollution, wear and tear on NB roads, etc. Also, take a look at the attached screen capture from geoNB. There is this thing called public easement and if I want to walk and take pictures I am absolutely free to do so. I had a conversation with one of your security guards who rolled up on me when I was parked in that little round around have moon crescent paved way. I stopped to safely engage someone over a phone call. After five seconds this guy rolls up in a personal car who obviously was heading home and asked me what I was doing. Not even knowing who this was I said little at first and then asked who he was. After he told me I said I stopped to finished a blue tooth phone call and didn't want to be distracted while driving. He said it was Irving's property and that I need to leave. He was pompous at first but fortunately it ended in civility. He was smart alec in asking if I was having a 'party' and to this day I don't even get what he meant. All I can say is that Irving needs to straighten out their security staff so that they demonstrate professionalism and not act like they are the Chief of Police or something. We got talking about the public easement and I told him I can walk on the side of the road as I pay taxes and these are City services - I tried to educate him on this fact but he believed Irving's property starts at the where the paved edge of the road is - False. I left after engaging him in conversation and while he turned out to be a fairly decent guy who might let his job go to his head bit - I think Irving Oil should train its staff better.

I live near it, it smells horrible and it fences off half of the trails. They have barbed wire fence, that seems very suspicious
