Multiple trails here which is good for determining how far you will hike/walk/run. Different distances for each route. We opted for Holmes Peak since it was our first time here. There were some people on the trails but it wasn't overly crowded. We would see people for short distances and then they would be gone. There is wildlife here so keep on your toes and keep children and especially dogs close by. Highly recommended for great views and exercise, beautiful views and fresh air. Definitely coming back to try the other routes too.

Great hike/run. Views are spectacular. And not too busy.

This is a great place to hike on the Saanich peninsula. Don’t underestimate this hike however, it will have you sweating within about 20mins into it as it is a mostly uphill for the first 2 hours ish (Depending on your walking/running speed). That said I use this trail up to Jocelyn peak for hill training for my trail running. The entire network of trails outside of the main route to Jocelyn peak is also great training grounds, but it is much less frequented by other hikers and a lot less scenic. Overall, this hike is a solid 5 for its well travelled and well maintained main route to Jocelyn peak, and views it offers along the way.

I went on a guided hike here to Jocelyn Peak along the ridge trail, led by Jay of the Victoria Outdoor Club. Amazing views of Finlayson Arm, Mt Finlayson, the Malahat, along a canyon with beautiful water — and bald eagles were showing off. You could even see the US Olympian Mountain Range across the water at some points. Only invasive species I saw was broom. Great hiking trail. ***moderate hiking skill (mostly endurance) and a trail veteran companion recommended***

Good Hike with beautiful views of Saanich inlet and the Malahat ridge.. just remember to keep your dog on a leash at all times ( it is the Rule). Dogs go missing there quite often, either chasing deer or they turn into cougar food, or both. Lots of birds nesting on the ground just off the trails too. so be thoughtful of the Park and keep your dog on the leash please.
