Kafka's Coffee and Tea

Small cafe but feels spacious with high ceilings. Decoration is eclectically artsy. I found the staff super nice and knowledgeable about their coffee. Closes rather early though and they start shooing their guests right on time too. I would''ve liked to spend more time admiring their interior design...

Glad I wasn't the only one who had problems with their service. It's always hit or miss and evenings seem to be worse. I went twice in the evenings and first time server was pretty indifferent, and that was fine. Second time the barista straight up forgot my order (nothing overly complicated, literally, one tea). Not one utterance of apology, bit of huffing and puffing like I was the one who inconvenienced them with my tea order. It was nowhere near closing time either. That was in October and I haven't gone once since.

Their hot chocolate was kinda lame but guess coffee is their thing, still gotta try it. Everything they sell looked really tasty and the space was very nice.

Their customer service is nonexistent. The first two time I came here were fine, but the last time the treatment was absolutely disgusting. I bought $15 worth of food+ drinks and gave a 15% tip. I had to attend an online lecture, but my laptop died. I‘ve asked them if they have an outlet to which they replied that they don’t. I have then asked if it would be possible to give them my charger and laptop to charge it in the back to which, with a sneer, they also said no. I was devastated and appalled at their ignorance - there was a visible empty outlet right behind the counter. After the $15 I spent I expected to spend at least an hour there but had to leave due to this nonsense. Disappointing and dehumanizing
