Winright’s CFO called me and explained that all the fees were in line with other law firms. He also told me they would be changing the wording of the quote email to be more clear. Further, Winright will be sending me a cheque for $50 as a courtesy. I really appreciate him taking the time to call me and the effort Winright has put in to rectify the situation so I am changing the review to 4 stars. Original review: Hope you like surprise fees! Did my Conveyancing with them and on top of the $850 base rate they quoted me they charged me $60 for the legal software they use, a $70 “agent fee” for representing me at the land title office (not a disbursement), a $30 “file opening, closing” fee, and a $30 “photocopies” fee. Their original quote email to me disclosed that there would be additional costs but also said that “both disbursements and closing costs will remain the same regardless of the law firm you choose, as they are dependent on your individual circumstances.” This led me to believe that the additional costs were of the nature of fees paid to the land title office and government agencies, not fees that would cover the costs of expenses that should really be included in the base rate. So really... every other law firm in Vancouver charges an extra $160 for legal software, agency, administration, and photocopying? I’ll give 2 stars because otherwise, the conveyancing went fine.

Winright provided a smooth and efficient process for my condo purchase. Friendly staff from top to bottom who are knowledgeable, attentive and professional. I felt like I got good value for my money. Will use them again!
