Rio Theatre

LOVE this place! I've been a decent few times now, and its the only theatre I really go to anymore! Great, helpful & friendly staff, and they have always went out of their way to help and make an enjoyable experience. This last visit was my first visit since this whole COVID pandemic, and they have everything done very safely, cleanly, and comfortably. It didn't negatively affect the movie experience whatsoever. In fact, it was almost nicer, as you could put stuff down on the seats beside you, as they enforce spacing between all groups. Anyways, I couldn't recommend this place more highly to anyone who is even slightly interested. Will be back soon for sure.

Absolutely LOVE this place and wish l had discovered it much sooner! Love the unique shows they put on (I'm a Geekenders fan for life now!) and the variety of fun older movies they show are always a lot of fun! The ticket prices are a great value and it's always nice to enjoy a refreshing drink while enjoying a show. The staff is fabulous too...Keep up the great work!

An experience you can't download. That's their slogan and it couldn't be better. Having a place where I can enjoy non-blockbuster movies as well as classics in the big screen is priceless. Do yourself a favor and go be amazed by the experience.

Local theatre off the Drive that features so many great films! They run season flicks, film fest movies, and documentaries plus live shows. Rio also serves alcohol (wine, beer, and specials), grilled cheese sandwiches, and your usual movie fare of candy and popcorn.

I love the Rio. It's one of my favourite Vancouver institutions. I have so many fond memories of spending time there. I highly recommend it for someone who loves the arts and is looking for something a little different from the same old boring theatre experience you get elsewhere.
