Main & 18th Park

There is a pokastop, other than that, completely insignificant

The proper name from this place is Sun Hop Park which is on the lastest version of the city park map. This is a small concrete park with a poodle on a pole. There is some landscaping and a small grass area. It looks like the park was created and paid for by the new development. There is also an orange public art piece. It is nice place to sit and rest when walking by the area.

This "park" is one of Vancouver's lamest excuses for a "park" a handful of trees and a grass hill are barely enough to deem this a spot to stop and jam what ever snacks your desperately munching from the shoppers... I wouldn't bring children to play here and it's definitely lacking in the nature that I have come to expect at a real park... give me a fricken playground and grsss, maybe a water fountain.

Decent spot and pleasant enough, but the poodle statue... why? It takes away from an otherwise attractive place. With the golden spray painted tree stump at the top of Cambie, golden spray painted rocks part way up Cambie (same uninspired artist, or just lazy contractors?), the headless rust statues on Lonsdale, and the numerous other questionable installations around the GVRD, I'm beginning to seriously question Vancouver's tastes in what I can only assume is art.
