Horrendous experience and we got off at the first opportunity (in New Caledonia!). Our cabin was filthy, the bathroom smelt of urine, there was hair in the clothes drawers, shelves in the closets had never been cleaned and our private balcony was dirty as were the two chairs, table and lounger on it. There were queues of 100 people for meals, the food quality was poor at best and guest services were a joke – when we left the ship no one even asked us why we were leaving! We have traveled to 70 countries and stayed in accommodations all over the world and this is by far the worse travel experience we have ever had!

This will definitely be the last time I ever cruise carnival. Here with my husband, 11 y/o and 8 month old. The water for the pools is pumped from the ocean and my baby isn't allowed in the pool (no surprise there) but c'mon it's the ocean water. What I don't get is why he isn't allowed in the sprinkler park? If he pooped...it would go in his diaper anyways. Today I was rinsing him off in the outdoor shower and I was told he wasn't allowed on the pool deck at all bc he's in diapers. when I ask them what they have for activities other than the pool I was told he had no suggestions. Why do I have to pay full price for someone who isn't allowed to use any of the facility. He can't even get a spoon. I asked for dish soap to wash his bottles and they aren't allowed to give me soap to wash his bottle and they won't wash the bottle. He told me to use hand soap. The staff is friendly and just doing their job but I'm highly upset, bored and feel cheated out of thousands of bucks.

We traveled Carnival Cruise then because of some reviews of Royal Caribbean chose them for our second trip. We were very pleased with Carnival and not very happy with our Royal Caribbean Cruise. Carnival wins hands down.

I first contacted Katiuscia Vericain at Carnival on April 29, 2019 to enquire about a cruise. I explained that my cousin, who's a Physician Assistant, wanted to take a cruise to celebrate us both turning 30 this year. I told her that I, a 4th year teacher making significantly lower wages, was very unsure I'd be able to afford this and could only tentatively ask for a quote. She incessantly pressured me to put down a deposit, saying, "If you just put the deposit down, you can cancel at any time and you will have your full fare refunded." She went on to say, "they will try to charge you fees, but as long as you speak with me directly, I will make sure you get all your money back." She switched between 3 different phone numbers during the duration of this booking process, saying, "there are some things I can't tell you on the recorded line." She called me 'baby' several times, and used the r-word casually upon our last conversation. Fast forward to June 17th... earlier this week I was diagnosed with two heart conditions that require further testing, and my furnace broke which will need to be replaced before winter. I call to cancel the cruise... Now Kat tells me, I will only get $218 back of the $500 I put down. It went from "full fare" to less than half. She puts me on hold for 29 minutes and 37 seconds, finally coming back to say I will get nothing at all from my deposit. Because they had 'saved' me so much money for this cruise ($2,405.04) that justified stealing my $500, giving me nothing in return. I questioned this, reminding Kat that she told me I only needed to put down $198, had I done that, that's all they could have stolen from me. I reminded her what she had initially said about returning all my money, she said under her breath, "in 24 hours" meaning that when she told me I could cancel ANY TIME, she actually meant I'd have needed to call the very next day. Why then, did she pressure me to put down the deposit at that moment? She was a manipulative, unprofessional liar, who needs to be investigated if there is any quality assurance within this company, if they are above in any way exploiting a young, poor teacher in poor health. To the Corporation, I enclosed a list of 27 relatives who take frequent Carnival Cruises who have vowed to switch cruise lines if this issue is not properly resolved.
