The Dofen Courthouse, Manitoba, Canada, is one of the oldest buildings in this city, built in 1916 by Samuel Brown of Winnipeg, designed by local architect Joseph Boson (Joseph Henry Bossons, 1859-?). Today, this building houses the Manitoba Provincial Court, with an accompanying prison unit. He has primarily criminal jurisdiction as well as limited comparative jurisdiction with the Queen's Bench Court of First Instance, [on those statutory matters pertaining to families living outside the Winnipeg City area. More than ninety-five percent of all criminal cases in Manitoba are filed in provincial court, such as the one in Dofen.
