Armor Roofing

I only rate 1 star because that is the only way I can leave a comment. I would rate ZERO STARS! I feel any past, current or future companies or individuals considering hiring Armor Roofing, Cranbrook, BC should know their utter lack of responsibility when they wrongfully cause property damage while under contract. Case in point: October 2019 as I was paying for my coffee at the Invermere Tim Hortons, Armor Roofing were working on the roof. A worker dropped an oil covered tool 20’ to hit my vehicle’s roof, bounce once & land directly behind my car. The worker was hanging over the roof, looked at me and said “oops. Sorry”. I went to look at the roof of my vehicle when he assured me he hadn’t caused damage. The sound of the tool falling that far made such a loud noise, myself & the employees at the window thought my vehicle had been rear ended. Sure enough - there were 2 dents and a scape of paint taken off. I picked up the tool and drove to the front door to talk with the manager. I obtained Tim Hortons insurance information. They advised the following day they would not be involved (although they hired Armor Roofing) and that I had to deal with Armor. Or my insurer would. Following this incident Armor Roofing admitted fault lay with them & they knew their employee was responsible. The estimate to repair my roof was $1,800. Armor roofing said we know it was our fault, but we don’t believe the damage could be that much. We will give you $500 to cover your deductible. I tried to explain that a minor fender bender could easily cost $2-$5,000 and that this was really incidental. My insurer assured me they would subrogate against Armor Roofing once repairs were made to my vehicle and recover the total cost of repairs. As of today, I have been advised that (a) Armour Roofing do not want this to go thru their insurance; (b) they will not settle outside of insurance and (c) they have been instructed not to pay this “fraudulent claim”. ➡️ So you are warned! Armor Roofing may cause damage to you or someone you know and they will sweep it under the mat; they will lie, change their story ... all in the name of what? The almighty dollar?? Would they have cared if the tool had hit my head - if the ambulance had to be called & the RCMP were on-site as well? They wouldn’t have been able to lie their way out of that! But please know. Armor Roofing is an example of a slimy firm; one which will deny negligence (even when they know full well they caused damage). Don’t hire them - and please warn anyone you know. I don’t want anyone else to have to go through what I am going through right now! Just because I was in the wrong place at the wrong moment - just because I wanted a coffee for my trip back to EDMONTON. Maureen Daigneau
