Kindred Spirit Mailbox

A lovely walk on a gorgeous day. This has been on my 'to visit' list for quite a while. Once the Nick Sparks book came out, relatives put it on their 'to-visit' lists as well. Finally we had a chance, and with the pandemic, no one could complain they had somewhere else to be do we took a day trip to finally visit the mailbox. The view was great, and it is definitely a great experience. We left our messages along with the others and met only a few people along the way, staying socially distanced of course. The setting around the mailbox is super peaceful, allowing for a meditative experience. Worth the trip, but be prepared for a walk, as it is about 3 miles round trip. Also, set aside time to meander not hike, as the ocean ways relaxes the soul.

Loved going to see the mailbox at Sunset Beach. It's a long walk yo get to it, but after reading Nicholas Spark's Every Breath, totally brings the book to life. You can read what's in it and write a journal entry of your own!

Never been but familiar with it from reading about it, to me it would a serene, spiritual place to go. By writing in notebooks there would be a release

Peaceful place when it is not very crowded. I second the previous comment that you should visit off season.

If you can make this walk, do it. Well worth it. Do it in the off season if you can. That beach walk mid summer would be tough. We did it in October and it was lovely.
