I called about having my cat neutered this fall and every other vet in Port Alberni wanted us to drive down from Tofino (2 hours away) for an exam before they would make us an appointment to have him neutered. Alberni Veterinary Clinic allowed us to do it all in the same day to save 4 hours of unnecessary driving. They were great, very informative and professional. Our beloved cat received the best care and recovered quickly. The rate was also very competitive. We will definitely be going back!

Thoroughly disappointed. Went for emergency. Asked for price before hand. Then doubled at the end without proper explanation. When asked for receipt, hand written a summary that doesn't tally to the actual price I paid. Vet was good but rest of staff was unprofessional, untrained and didn't know their inventory. Was very disappointed for the third time I go there over the last 10 yrs ( as last option, and every time it sucks). Not sure cat was diagnosed properly. Will have to go see a 2nd opinion as they were quick to dismiss us. Very unfortunate they aren't better organized. Also who takes the animal away in a jiffy to give them shoots or take blood without you being there. Felt weird and unsafe and unprofessional.

Just had my little chihuahua for dental surgery and it went well. I've been taking Roxie here now for a few years and the staff has always been gentle, kind and caring towards her. The staff called my house a day prior to her surgery to remind me of the appointment. After the surgery, they kept Roxie for an hour for observation and then called me to come pick her up. The day after surgery they called again to see how she was doing. Prior to this we have Roxie' anal glands done, blood work, rabies vaccinations and have always have been happy with their service. The other thing I've also appreciated is how quick they have been able to get us in for anything.
