The Dr. is very friendly and professional. I had to drop my kitty off at the door because of covid restrictions. The vet called for the phone appointment at the time he said he would and also followed up when he promised. I found that he was very clear and detailed with information. The staff kept my cat for a few hours to obtain a urine sample. My issue is that when I picked my cat up from the appointment, he was DRENCHED in his own urine. There was a puddle of urine in the bottom of the carrier. My cat was slipping in his urine on the drive home and was extremely anxious, bashing at the carrier door to try and get out, which he's never done. I was almost in tears watching him stress like that. I thought, ok maybe he peed at the door when they were handing him back to me.. .but they said he already went pee. I called to ask if they knew why he might be covered in his own pee and they just said "oh yeah, we had to get the urine sample from the cat carrier". I am SO frustrated that they did not even towel my cat off or wipe the carrier out. He left him to pee in his own cat carrier and then sit in it for hours (most vets would put cats in a boarding kennel with a litter pan to get a sample). I hope that my cat doesn't develop any behavioural issues because of this, anyone with a cat knows how shameful and stressful it is for them to be covered in the own mess. Also, the carrier door was not completely latched when they handed him back to me in the busy parking lot. Thank goodness I always double check! I am just disgusted at the lack of professionalism. I will not go back which is too bad because the vet himself seems great.

I have used this clinic two separate times for urgent care needs. 1st time was about a year ago, my dog was bleeding through her nostrils and had something wrong with her throat. No other vet clinics would take her in (I called a few places at 8am) even though it was an urgent situation. I was just about to call the emergency vet, when I called Twin River. (She was still breathing fine, and not in distress but still needed veterinary care right away) They squeezed her in their busy day and we got treatment. My dog made a full recovery. Second time was yesterday, I called our usual vet clinic and explained the situation- another urgent matter with my other dog. I called at 8am and they were already booked for the day? I was turned down and told to use the emergency vet. I called Twin River and they again, came to my rescue and fit us in within the hour. Not like they weren't busy, there was plenty of people with pets there. They were friendly, quick to respond and did an excellent job, covered all the bases and met my requests. I will 100% tell all my friends and family about my experiences. In summary, I am pleased and relieved to have a vet clinic I can rely on. Thank you Twin River Animal Hospital. *I have absolutely nothing negative to say about other clinics, just a let down when your regular clinic can't support you. I get they are busy. I get things dont always go the way we want to. But if I can avoid using the emergency vet I will. My situations were not an EMERGENCY but URGENT. there is a difference*

Dr. Kataria truly went above and beyond for our dog Bolt for our dog's seven years in Kamloops. He had dental surgery performed here that went off without a hitch, and we were always able to get in quickly if something was really wrong. When he was diagnosed with nose cancer Dr. Kataria followed up (on his own time) with other clinics in BC to ensure the highest level of treatment and to recommend the best course of action. His staff also called us on weekends to check in on how he was doing which was very sweet. They were excellent to him right up to his last day where they quickly fit him in when he began to rapidly deteriorate. Cannot recommend this clinic enough. They truly care.

Our regular vet that we usually use wouldn't get our very sick pupper in for 4 days from our emergency call. Twin Rivers got us in right away and ended up keeping her overnight for IV meds and monitoring. Set up a very effective care plan over the last couple of weeks and even got us in immediately for another emergency early one morning. Was much cheaper than I thought it was going to be (still pricey but you have to expect it without insurance) and kept us in the loop with diagnosis, treatment path, and forseeable complications with recovery including a treatment plan to combat those potentials as well. My fiance and I are both healthcare professionals and have a good understanding of the diagnosis and pathophysiology involved and the Dr. made sure to take time out of his day to properly explain in depth everything that was going on. Even went as far as giving us a copy of the blood work everytime we drew blood. 5/5 and will exclusively only take our animals here from now on. Completely won us over. Thank you!
