Forest Alive

Andres is a great guide. We spent half a day exploring Selvatura park. He talked about different types of forests, plants and species that live there. We saw 8 quetzals and many other birds and insects. Great scenery, beautiful flowers and good vibes. Highly recommended.

I totally agree with the comments below! Traveling with two kids (8 and 4 years) it was important for us to have a german speaking guide. Andres was amazing and speaks very well german has he studied at German Humboldt school in San José. He‘s very passionate about what he does. His Bio on the website is impressing! The kids loved him. We had a night- and a day walk with him. Both are highly recommended! We also loved the little store very much. Amazing collection! All of the staff are very nice.

Ziplining was fun

We were very lucky to be able to go on a night tour in Monteverde yesterday with Andres and Freddy from Forest Alive. Words cannot describe how satisfied & happy we were with this tour and these two great guides. First of all, the two of them brought all the fancy equipment you can imagine: binoculars, lamps, high-performance eyepiece, thermal imaging camera, night vision device, UV light, radios, .... With this, the two of them found and showed so many animals for us - unbelievable! Toucan, vipers, hummingbird, bat, howler monkey, tortoiseshell, lizard, opossum, .... Andres told us so much about the animals and plants - you can feel the passion that goes into the tours and you can't help but be inspired by them! We cannot praise Forest Alive, and especially Andres and Freddy, highly enough and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this great experience! Come here and make your own picture - you won't regret it !!!

Today we spent a very nice day in Monteverde with Andres. We saw 7 quetzals, two motmots and many hummingbirds. Where can you see them as close as here? They came right down to the finger. The afternoon hanging bridge tour was fantastic. To see the rainforest on all floors was beautiful and the sensational many plants were expertly explained by Andres. An unforgettable experience.
