I'm in the solar industry in the U.S. and wanted to experience an off grid experience. What could life be like if the grid failed and we needed to rely on ourselves and community. Finca Bella Vista offered me that opportunity and much more. The community, workers and volunteers are examples of what life should be like on or off grid, they were wonderful, great to talk to and very helpful. The accommodations are examples of what you need to live, but the sounds, the tastes and the views offered much more. If I'm going to go off grid someday I hope I can replicate the life here.

Finca Bellavista is wonderful. The people are kind and generous. The scenery is beautiful, breathtaking. The tree houses are around a long loop of jungle. There are opportunities for ziplining, exploring waterfalls, and just enjoying the jungle. Every morning begins with a complimentary yoga class, and every evening caps off with a happy hour, where you can meet other guests and hang out. We highly recommend.

Easily the greatest, most magical getaway of my life! Being in the jungle at Finca Bellavista changed me. I hope to one day own a treehouse here and live my best life

There aren't enough good words to say about Finca Bellavista. We arrived at the Basecamp and were directly welcomed by the really friendly and helpful receptionist. She informed us well and ensured that we have all we need. Our accommodation (Casa del Tigre) was a moderate 20 minute hike from base camp and a nice volunteer girl led us there. The walkways are well maintained (which is not an easy job). Casa del Tigre is really cozy and the perfect place to enjoy nature and wildlife. The electricity and hot water worked fine. Considering that you are in the middle of the jungle, they do a really great job. The tap water is drinkable by the way. We had the full-board package and were absolutely satisfied. They put love and effort into growing most of the veggies on-site and buy everything else needed for cooking locally. We appreciate farm-to-table meals! After an adventurous day in the jungle we felt at some point to tired to walk again the 20 min to the base camp. But we were rewarded with lots of wildlife during the hike, nice chats with other guests and some community members as well as the good food. Our night sleep was good but too short. We spent most of the night forcing ourselfs to stay awake a bit longer as we had so much fun to imagine what kind of animals we are hearing. We had no trouble with bugs or mosquitos during our stay. Casa del tigre has it's own trail to the river, which I loved the most. Hiking along the river early in the morning was just amazing. We spotted lots of different birds, monkeys, some reptiles and lots of butterflies. I did the hike to La Punta which was wild and awesome. The way was better than the destination point itself, so take your time and enjoy! The red trail was ok but we would have rather skipped that and spend more time at the river. Thank you for this memory Finca Bellavista! We will be back soon.
