The most delicious, authentic Costa Rican food. Everything is cooked by wood fire. Local family owned business, and the owner is present and invested in the experience of all of their customers. So clean, so hospitable. Really, the best available in the San Jose, and in my opinion, Costa Rica.

To any and all patrons/customers/passerby’s of this fine establishment, you’ll step into tile-adorned floors while feeling immersed in the wood walls sorrounded by DIY chairs and tables made by especially to the owners rustic likeness. The bathrooms greet you with sea-shell shaped sinks and paintings covering the wall to make anyone feel right at home. Any and all food is woodfired cooked, leaving a traditional taste. This taste isn’t smoked or resembling any smoky flavor. This taste is clear and crisp and effervescent. I ordered and tasted the pork, yucca, and tasted the beans, onions, and steak beyond comprehension that leaves you asking for more as you’re eating the dish. The food in this establishment is a work of art. Please treat yourself to the privilege of eating food at Donde La Negre. The incredible staff will make you feel right at home with exceptional customer service and hospitality. Disregard any other negative reviews about this establishment because those folks simply do not appreciate what’s really home cooked and well dressed. You need to understand the authenticity of what you’re walking into. Anything else is void.

Delicious true Costa Rican food. As soon as you drive in you will be transported to a different world, a relaxing, zen and organic one. All around this rustic farm you will find coziness and the best service you can ever have, a caring owner ! If you wanna try food that's truly not processed, you will taste the difference in the ingredients and the way they are cooked in full costarican fashion. In few words, prices are so affordable you will never want to leave this place. This is a true Gem don't miss the chance to go!
