More care should be taken to protect the germplasm banks of a few small farmers who still retain native seeds such as lux bony rice, Rexoro, chinchin, etc. threatened by the transgenics, Monsanto and his henchmen. I have serious doubts of those who today want the experiment with GMO corn in Gunacaste. I think that they better than anyone know how risky and harmful that can result and despite the opposition of authorities they insist and deny the risk. It is evident that they have a dark interest. I do not wish to delve deeper into this delicate subject. It is uncomfortable and disgusting to see colleagues that one considers involved in these murky matters.
