Not a very impressive station. Needs some refurbishment. Although the train to Prague was on time, comfortable, cool and cheap. Could by a ticket online very easy.

Be careful! This station is closed everyday from 00:00-03:00. Think twice if you need to transfer at night here. I almost cold to death for three hours transfer time staying outdoor on November.

Very well connected to Prague (1h30m express every 2 hours plus a a bit slower train every hour) as well as České Budějovice plus a couple trains a day to Linz. Local trains to Bechyně are interesting if you happen to catch a vintage train.

Amazing historic city with a medieval center on a hill above the river, surrounded by walls. Winding streets with original houses. Pleasant and quiet atmosphere. Amazing architecture of many greenery and water areas. Amazing!
