Beautiful place, full of peace

A commemorative stele was erected in Mariánské Lázně in 1849 to commemorate the repeated visits to the spa by J. W. Goethe. At the place where, according to Goethe, he loved to sit with his beloved Ulrikou von Levetzow. In 1999 the stele was restored. The pedestal bears the words “Poutníkových nočních písní”.
