The Marian Column, also known as the Plague Column, was built in 1724 on today's Přemysl Otakar Square. It was just 10 years after the end of the Great Plague Epidemic. At that time, except perhaps in the event of war, the greatest disaster for humans. The column is fitted with a total of six saints who, after appropriate prayers, averted plague wounds. The top of the chapel passes into the conical shaft of the column, at the top of which is a statue of the Virgin Mary Immaculata, adored by angels. Since 1958 the Marian Column has been protected as a cultural monument. In 2014, an impressive night illumination was added to the column during an extensive reconstruction of the square.
