The hop kiln and sulfur kiln probably date from 1877. In period photographs, it is mentioned as "Schwefelei Grundfest" after the Grundfest family that ran the business.

This monument is worth a visit and hopefully it will open to visitors. I can imagine that there would be a beer bar and offer beer from small breweries as part of the tours. But the end of dreaming. Hop drying plant and sulphurous plant is from the 1870s and is very well preserved. Especially circular drying towers are a rarity. Drying was carried out on metal grates, when the ground floor was heated. Hop cultivation in the region has a centuries-old tradition, but originally the hops were dried on the attics of houses. The monument is owned by the city, which is slowly repaired.
