We visited the station during the Christmas period in 2019, because of the "Mikulášské jízdy Prahou 2019" or St. Nicholas rides through Prague 2019. During that day a special historical train makes several trips from Prague and back and in Prague designed for children.
It is a lovely experience. You can enjoy the trip on a real steam train, with the original wagons and a wonderful restaurant one (a few kinds of stuff there but the atmosphere is remarkable).
You will meet St. Nicholas and the Devil and watch their tricks with the kids. In the end you can visit the locomotive. Simply WOW!
Incredibly helpful lady at the ticket office even pointed out that as we are seniors and have id we could get hugely reduced tickets to kutna hora. Amazing service!
Nice place, well connected with buses and trams, with few small shops for a quick bite.
