Czech Post

Stuck between two and three stars. The post cards are really great compared to some of the street vendor’s wares. They even have a couple of tables inside to write a word or two for the folks back home. There is something so much more personal and romantic about sending a hand written card back home. The bad is the staff. Well, one young lady in particular was completely put off by a damn tourist working to grasp a cultural, language, and foreign postal knowledge barrier. She sighed loudly, rolled her eyes, and sent me off with a wave of her hand like I was a street beggar. The adjacent young man tried to help but as soon as he asked if I was American the young lady made him sit back down. My wife walked out because she saw the ladies treatment of me and knew how I would react if I were “pushed”. The removal of this unpleasant employee would be a benefit. Especially in such a heavily tourist laden area. A real shame she works there.

My favorite post office 📯. Great staff, nice choice of postcards and philately stuff (stamps, FDC, CM). Often they have special commemorative postmarks, too. Until 14 August, 2018 they have a special Praga 2018 postmark on top of their regular but nonetheless beautiful Prague Castle postmark (it features a silhouette of Hradčany and the stamp is larger than usual) ❤
