Marian Column

Baroque column with a statue from 1699, which is based on the Marian Column of the sculptor Jiří Bendl from 1652 on the Old Town Square in Prague. Authorship, or who Říčanský pillar was built is not known, only the column marked with the date and initials creating F.F.B. The gilded statue of Our Lady of Immaculate (Immaculate) stands on top of a pillar on a stone pedestal, protected by massive stone railings. Mary has her hands clasped around the head with a halo of ten stars. It stands on a globe encircled serpent who holds an apple (the symbol representing the victory over original sin).
