Budišov Castle

Huge exposition of stuffed animals 5000+ pieces occupying whole first floor. Trophies, whole bodies, skeletons, various arrangements and incredible range of animal kinds fish, mammals, reptiles, birds, clams, simply everything from all over the world! BUT you valve only one hour to see it all that is impossible! One would spend dozen of minutes at single vitrine such as at hummingbirds, bats, birds of pray, fish... We were warned that there is lot of stuff to see and that we will be pushed to next room which we were all the time. The guide with incredible strong voice enough to overcome children amusement spoke briefly about the castle history and in each room was highlighting selected pieces of animals wit couple of interesting information, small quizzes for kids to keep their attention. Some of the exponates were 100+ years old and still in perfect condition! I would prefer individual entrance for couple of hours or better whole day to enjoy the exhibition. And give it more space not to have the rooms so crowded with exponates such for the birds. No photo is allowed. Understandable. 4 stars only due the one hour limit.

Who would have thought that a tour of stuffed animals would be with a guide! The website only lists opening hours, tour times nowhere. I hoped that if we went to the museum, it would be a museum-like exhibition. Absolutely binding for children. An hour-long tour takes place in the style on the left you see a tiger and on the right an antler. Only the stringing tins were missing. Animals awesome, horror design.

Absolutely perfect and huge collection of stuffed animals. Reptiles, mammals and birds. The super lady guide will answer your questions without any problems. We had no idea that we have such a unique collection not far from the house. Definitely worth a visit. The beginning of the tour Wednesday to Friday 9:00, 10:30, 13:00, 14:30, 16:00 - Saturday and Sunday 9:00, 10:30, 13:00, 14:30, 16:00 The tour lasts 60 minutes.

As there was no mention of the opening hours anywhere, we could only take pictures through the fence and the gate. Fortunately, the castle park was opened to us, which compensated us for the disappointment. There is a fantastic silence, interrupted by occasional birdsong and leaf rustling. Great, deserted place to relax and dream - 2 ponds, alley and several benches ,, the forgotten world of no one ,,. As for refreshments, in the village there is a pizzeria open from 5 pm and behind the dormitory crossing 1 restaurant, where you can also cook.

Not bad. It's beautiful, especially for children. Stuffed animals and children love that. We were accompanied by a very nice guide.
