Lannerův House

Lanner's House in Telč was founded on the site of an older court in the 17th century as a dispensary of the local Jesuit College. During the 19th century, a textile manufactory was set up here and the building received the present three-winged structure. At present, there is a territorial professional workplace of the National Heritage Institute for the Vysočina Region. The building is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The earliest references to the place where the Lanner House is located today date back to the 17th century. In 1651 a farm yard with a large garden was mentioned here, which was bought by Countess Františka Slavatová from Chlum and Košumberk. Three years later, she gave it to the Jesuit Order, which brought her to Telč and who set up her dispensary, an object for dignified life of the Order's brothers. In the late Baroque period, two separate buildings, the northern and western wings of today's building, were built here. Since the abolition of the Jesuit line in 1773, the so-called Jesuit, or Slavatovsky Court, had been fallow and subject to destruction. At the beginning of the 19th century, a Jewish merchant, Jakub Lang, bought a court at auction to set up a fine cloth factory. He connected the two buildings and had the eastern wing connected to them, thus creating an area of ​​the so-called court of honor.
