Beautiful alley between the square and the castle

The sgraffito, allegedly initiated by the publisher Ladislav Horáček, the late founder of the Paseka publishing house, as well as the rescue of murals in Portmone. There is also a secondhand bookstore just around the corner. A magic alley with a dandelion, reproductions from Váchal's Blood Novel on sgraffito. There is also a pleasant café in the alley.

You should definitely not miss if you are interested in any drawings on the houses

Litomyšl is not only the town of Bedřich Smetana, but also the painter, graphic artist and writer Josef Váchal. The city not only has its own museum, known as the Portmoneum, but also the street named after it. Váchalova Street leads from Smetana's Square in Litomyšl towards the castle hill and the Piarist Church. It is decorated along its entire length with sgraffito, which are replicas of woodcuts from Váchal's Bloody Novel. In 1998, they were created by recent graduates of the restoration school in Litomyšl, today the smallest faculty of the University of Pardubice. In the front part of the house there is a bookstore / antiquarian Paseka, which significantly contributed to the establishment of Portmonea.
