Above the village of Těnovice near Spálené Poříčí (Plzeň - south) stands the very first Buddhist building in the Czech Republic. The Enlightenment Stupa is a symbol of peace and tranquility and is filled with Buddhist relics. It stands near the Buddhist Center for Meditation in seclusion Těnovice on the hill Těnovická skála (580 m above sea level) and is open to the public. Here, people can meditate or go around the stupa in a clockwise direction and thus positively influence their mind. From Těnovická skála there is a really beautiful view of the surroundings and it directly encourages meditation. The building is seven meters high, the whole is made of granite blocks. Its shape resembles a sitting Buddha. Beneath the golden tower is also his statue, which overlooks the valley and the opposite hills of the Brdy Highlands. The inside of the stupa is not accessible, it is filled with mantras and castings of Buddhas. The shape of the building symbolizes the perfection of the mind of each being and is also a symbol of peace and tranquility.
