Prokop Holý Monument

It rarely happens that you walk around the monument in the square, look at the work from different angles, and think about what you actually see. The feeling is amazing (also because it doesn't come often), and the Art Nouveau statue of Prokop Holý in Český Brod met this limit to 100%. And as I later learned, not just from the outside. The monument to Karel Opatrný from 1908-10 is made of Hořice sandstone, in the pedestal there are boxes with fingers from the victorious battlefields of Czech legionnaires during the First World War and fingers with clay from the concentration camps and from the battlefield at Dukla. In 1975, a memorial plaque to the victims of fascism was placed on the monument. Interesting: the weight of the body rests on the left leg, the right stepped foot steps on the mace as a badge of power. In the same direction, the head is turned and the right arm is outstretched, the left hand holding a peacock with an engraved and gold-covered inscription with text from the Hussite chant. Behind the figure of the figure are warrior attributes - the torso of the car and under it a chained pin and a banner with sunbeams. On 16 November 2015, the memorial was entered in the Central List of Immovable Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic. In the same direction, the head and the right arm are turned, the left hand holding the shield with the gold-engraved inscription with the Hussite choral text. Behind the characters are the warrior's attributes - the torso of the wagon and the lying pinhole and the sunbeam below it. The memorial was registered in the Central List of Real Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic on November 16, 2015.
