The charcoal blast furnace Barbora was founded by Rudolf Count of Vrbno. The construction was started on 10th July 1805 and was put into operation in 1810. The specialization of the smelter was casting of cast iron tubes. But there were also made machine parts and bread iron for iron mills. It was in operation until 1874. In the following years, a sawmill was established and the premises were closed. At present the building is in private property, unfortunately it is not used and the surrounding land serves as a training ground. It is still a beautiful and remarkable building. Very interesting monument that is currently undergoing well-deserved reconstruction. The last preserved charcoal blast furnace in Central Europe

The charcoal blast furnace, which was used for the processing of iron ore in the years 1810 - 1874. Her specialization was the production of cast iron pipes. It is an exceptional technical monument of European importance. The building is now undergoing repairs. Unfortunately, it is on private property and therefore only for viewing from a distance.

Interestingly, but it won't. So far in a desolate state, the reconstruction is in progress, but it is not clear what it will be after the reconstruction.
