Very nice fountain. I've only seen it in winter though.

Since 1812, a fountain with a girl's character representing the Czech river Vltava has become a part of the high enclosure wall that surrounds the corner garden belonging to the Clam-Gallas Palace. The sitting girl's figure holds two mugs from which water flows. These symbolize two sources of the Vltava. Five stars on the indicated spring reminds St.. John of Nepomuk and the Vltava River. Praguers called the statue of Vaclav Prachner Terezka. Perhaps according to a girl who used to go to the fountain long ago for water. Terezka was also said to be the richest sculpture in Prague: the Knightmaster from the Dragoons for retirement, a weirdo, a resident from the corner house in Linhartská Street, had a view of the Terezka Fountain from the window. He looked at the often abandoned girl and fell in love with her. After his death, it turned out that Terezka bequeathed ten thousand gold coins. But the court did not accept the reference, because the relatives did not like it. It turned out that other people also liked Terezka very much. Even so much that she almost did not survive the favor, she was damaged. In 1953, a copy of the white sandstone had to be made and the damaged original is deposited in the collection of the National Gallery. In 2015 the fountain underwent reconstruction, during which the sandstone reservoir was repaired and a new metal bathtub was installed. Similarly, the wiring was replaced and the facade of the edicule was repaired.

The sitting girl, the water oozing from the bottle held in her right hand, symbolizes the river Vltava. Five stars are placed on the girl's left hand, reminiscent of the Czech St. John Nepomuk. This is a copy of the sandstone, the original is stored in the National Gallery.

A very cute sculpture with a drinking fountain. A girl with two jugs or Terezka, as the people of Prague call her affectionately, is also connected with the legend. It is considered an allegorical personification of the Vltava. The fountain was designed by Josef Bergler, the first director of the Prague Academy of Art. The creator of the fountain, the sculptor Vaclav Prachner, was known as the author of many tombstones. He set the figure of a girl pouring water from two jugs over the bowl. If you look closely at one of the jugs carefully, you can see five stars on it - a symbol of St. John of Nepomuk, who suffered martyrdom in the Vltava.

The fountain, called Terezka, is an allegory of the Vltava by Václav Práchner, dating back to 1812. The girl holds two jugs, the flowing water symbolizes the Vltava River.
