Egon Schiele Art Centrum

A very beautiful museum with various art installations. The most important was that of the resident artist Egon Schiele but the Japanese sculptor Tets Ohnari was a great surprise. His work was amazing. The staff were very pleasant and the souvenir shop downstairs well stocked with posters and other memorabilia.

If this place would not be part of the Krumlov card thing I would not probably visit it. Egon Schiele part is rather small but comprehensive enough. Other temporary exhibitions were interesting. Overall worth to visit.

loved the building, the personnel was nice, really interesting exhibitions and tbh the egon schiele one mightve been the least interesting of all of them, i still enjoyed it tho

This museum is a TOTAL FAKE! A joke! We (me and my family) are very, very dissapointed, angry and upset. There are no real art-works of mister Egon Schiele here. This is commercial exploiting of people. How do they DARE to call themselves Egon Schiele Art centre, when there is no art from him there. We are artists ourselves from the Hague, the Netherlands and hugue fans of his work. We have seen a lot of his art work. The Gemeente Museum in the Hague has several real paintings and drawings. We were hoping to see more of mister Schiele his work here. Everything here are photocopies or photos of his work on display as if it is the real-deal. Even the photos of his life and family are copies!!! The only thing real is a little sketchbook, a postcard and two small letters and 1 aquarel of his uncle. Before we went to the center, we read the reviews on google. We knew there were no real paintings of him, but were were not expecting to see photos of his drawings in poor quality. Dont go to this place it is a waste of your time, money, energy and happiness. If you go to this place you are throwing away your money as did we and it is very expensive.We have been to al lot of museums, this is not a real museum or artcentre. We are writing this review to save you the dissapointment we experienced.

Not that big a fan of Egon Schiele, but the ambiance and structure of the museum was very interesting. Their exhibition was about the woman's view (the world through the eyes of woman artists). The art in that exhibition was amazing. You can really feel the theme of each artist there. You can read about the controversial life of Schiele there. The museum does get hot in the summer, so don't assume it's well air conditioned. (Like if you found this useful)
