Vrchlabi is known as the gateway to the Giant Mountains and I can add that this "gate" our highest mountains really do not be ashamed. Every year from the beginning of Advent to the end of March in the castle park right in the center of the town by the square and the castle you can see a really beautiful wooden nativity scene with many figures and crèches and it is not just a small nativity scene. Wooden sculptures made by woodcarver Mr. Pavel Tryzna in 8 months are at least life-size and their weight ranges from 200 to 1000 kg, ie from two meters to one ton. It is a unique sight and its tour is completely barrier-free and suitable for all generations. Thanks to the "robustness" of the nativity scene, not only children but also adults can take pictures of it. I can park literally near the nativity scene in the square, in the underground parking lot below and around the square, where I was surprised by the low price for parking, especially at the Elbe in a large parking lot. It is freely accessible for free. The whole nativity scene is "tuned" into the First Republic's atmosphere and thanks to enthusiasts makes people happy.

The castle park in Vrchlabí occupied the Giant Mountains fairy tale of forty wooden figures and animals in life. It is very atypical and peculiar. Krakonoš, Trautenberk, butcher Krkovička, three kings, a band of musicians, a mountain carrier, grandmother and other figures created by Pavel Tryzna from Řezbáři K 106 in eight months. All sculptures are from oak and weigh from 200 to 1000 kg.
