Here is further evidence that our ancestors were able to choose the best available place to build, in this case the rotunda. You'll probably agree with me when I say this place has an exceptional genius loci. Rotunda and small cemetery. A place to contemplate, to walk and note that always quietly and slowly. And it does not change the claim that Catherine of Alexandria was, according to legend, a Christian martyr and for centuries was one of the most popular Christian saints. However, there is a lack of evidence of its historical existence, very likely it may be a fictional character. And I add that Catherine celebrates the 25th of November.

Obviously, the locals have always respected this beautiful rotunda. They built, then completed the bell tower. They even named the nearby street "U kostelíčka". And they also have a reputation: it is said that a secret corridor begins under the rotunda, at the end of which a golden bell is placed ... The rotunda is a protected monument.

Romanesque rotunda of St. Kateřiny is one of the dominants of Česká Třebová, she stands above the town and attracts with her white beauty from afar. The rotunda is Gothic in the second half of the 14th century and around it is a ruined cemetery with interesting tombstones. The building can be entered through a Renaissance bell tower from the 16th century.

Romanesque rotunda of st. Kateřiny is the oldest religious monument in East Bohemia. Beautifully renovated.

Beautiful rotunda. Very pleasant surroundings. Definitely worth a visit of the Catherine / Apple Fair. With the interpretation of the priest, great.
