Krouna

Krouna is a railway station in the village of the same name on line 261 (Svitavy - Žďárec u Skutče), in the line section of the railway station Čachnov - Krouna - Krouna, stop. At present, one through track, an elevated platform and a shelter for passengers in the form of an open reinforced concrete skeleton. Railway line currently with less traffic, several passenger trains a day. Operation on the railway line is provided by the national carrier Czech Railways with motor units 814/914 called RegioNova, also in the color of the Pardubice Region (gray car bodies, see photo). The stop is located outside the village, there is a local road to the center. Originally, however, in the place of the railway station served by the dispatcher, two through tracks and one handling track at the warehouse with a loading ramp, there was also a station building typical of the regional railway. A stop convenient for hiking to the outskirts of the Iron Mountains and also Žďárské vrchy in the Hornosvratecká Highlands. Not far from the stop, above the village Krouna, the border of natural areas belonging to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. From the stop, access to the local road leading from the village to the Panský pond and further to the village of Rychnov, on the border of the Iron Mountains and the Hornosvratecká Highlands (unmarked route). The red marked tourist route of the Czech Tourists' Club runs through the village of Krouna in the section Předhradí (canyon-like valley of the river Krounka) - Otradov - Krouna - Dědová (lookout point) - Kameničky. The route passes near the railway station marked "Krouna, zastávka" (near the railway crossing of road II / 354).
