Geomuseum Devonium

The museum is very well done, only in German, but with interessant exhibits. The old quarry where you can look for your own fossils was the highlight of our visit. Lots of thanks to the lady from the museum...she told us where to go and even gave us a hammer to use.

Small, well-explanatory exhibition about the geological ages with a focus on Devonian :-). The exhibition is set up counter-clockwise. We didn't notice until later.

A small, fine museum dedicated to the time of the Devon and its fossils. There are also some finds from Roman times. The presentation is first class. Above all, the immediate proximity of the fossil sites makes the attraction of this museum, because you can almost trace the Devon directly in front of his door and continue to experience. I was particularly impressed by the child-friendly treatment of the information and the exceptionally nice staff.

The Devonium is a very informative, interactive and understandable exhibition. Paleontology without dinosaurs is not an easy topic, but in the devonium it is presented didactically very well. The opening hours are something special. But it is a real showcase project for such a small place and definitely worth a visit.
