It runs right through Gelsenkirchen and separates Ge-Buer from Ge-Schalke. You can go for a wonderful walk along the canal. It is also used a lot by cyclists, skaters and people on shoemaker's pony. There are benches to linger. There is a lot to see. Be it the passing barges or a rower. When the weather is clear, you can see "Hercules" and the unusual bridge in Nordstern Park. The lock is very interesting.
