It is extremely positive that the mine buildings are being used and thus preserved. On the one hand, Vivawest is based here and uses the building as an office block. On the other hand, there is a museum. And we are in the middle of the Landscape Park North. Excellent !

The colliery is a really worthwhile visit, regardless of whether you are just standing in front of it or whether you are going to the colliery and its tower itself, from where the view is wonderful. The colliery itself also temporarily hosts exhibitions. The adjacent park is perfect for walks, excursions etc.

The old coal mine and coking plant has developed into a beautiful park with a dog run area. But unfortunately there is also something negative and that is our shaft 2. For many years, miners have put a Christmas tree up there on the tower just in time for Advent. Today only an ugly figure reminds of the beautiful time. Good luck for
