Interesting exhibition on Peter Behrens. At the moment one floor is open to the public and has an exhibition on Behrens and his work. Some interesting artifacts but lots of interesting images. A visit takes maybe around 1 hour.

Was there last Sunday and looked at the special photo exhibition that deals with industry in general and bad and good living in particular in the 1920s / 30s / 40s / 50s / 60s. Of course, something like that is only part of the whole, but the pictures are still shaped by the sometimes gloomy and dreary living atmosphere, as well as the distinctive and dominant "beauty" of the industrial backdrops. Furthermore, you could see people playing and laughing Don't let children stop being happy. As a child in the 1950s, I was able to see and experience everything with my own eyes. Of course, the pictures with the beautiful and new living conditions were also interesting, but also somehow "boring", because of course there is no such thing as atmosphere. You could tell that the "makers" wanted to get a message across, but they made small mistakes when labeling the pictures. For example: Weser-Dattel Canal. There is no such thing. It should read: Wesel-Dattel Canal. Or at the Mont-Cenis colliery in Herne Sodingen, instead of shaft 2/3 it should read: 1/3. And the picture of the Mont-Cenis 2/4 mine was labeled: Erin colliery. This is totally wrong, because it is in Castrop-Rauxel. I only know that because I have lived near the two mines Mont-Cenis 1/3 and 2/4 for 71 years. Of course, one wonders how it behaves with the other labels, whether everything is so correct. Whatever the case, there are small things and they shouldn't diminish the overall impression and the effort to authentically and concisely depict the time, because the pictures speak for themselves! It was definitely worth it to take a look back at the past.

Great exhibition, but currently only limited number of visitors possible at the same time.

Tip. In tours you can find interesting connections with e.g. B. Experience Bauhaus. You can always learn more about the Ruhr area! The view is also great.
