I went there and then found out on site that you get 0 information about the thing. Thought there was a sign nearby what it is. It is not so. A mast running away .... Is there a small rucksack missing on one side where you have your belongings and is good :-) or he dances, depending on which generation you belong to.

The "sorcerer's apprentice" is actually just an accessory to the beautiful walks you can take here along the Rhine-Herne Canal. Nice to look at and unusual indeed. If you do it skillfully you can photograph him with 4 smaller "children's masts". An excursion is definitely worth it.

If the "sorcerer's apprentice" wasn't standing in the middle of the dog meadow by the woody garden, I could recommend this sculpture more.
