Campingplatz Burg Lahneck

We have returned to this site 4 times now as a short stop over at the start or end of our campervan holidays. We love the high vantage point overlooking the Rhine and the immaculate grounds and facilities with plenty of shade if you're lucky enough to have the beautiful sunshine we experienced. Although there is a fairly constant buzz from the traffic and trains below, you do feel you are floating above this in your own little oasis of calm. A big bonus for us is the wonderful public swimming pool right next door. A great place to cool off. The two gentlemen looking after the site are very helpful and pleasant.

Many great features, but some irritations. The site is clean, well organized and in a good position high above the Rhine. The town is about 15 minutes walk away. It is very expensive, and this is where the irritations eminate from. This was the most expensive site in a six week trip, so to be charged 1Euro to have my cable plugged in, charged top rate per KWh and to find no soap in the toilets is incongruous with the price. 58Euros for 2 nights in low season! A place I would not return to because these irritations...... But that is just my opinion!

Brilliant as ever. Been coming since 1988. Lovely welcome. Loads to do in the area.

Nice campsite with exacting standards and owners. Great view, but can be noisy from the rail and roads in the valley.

Very nice owner, really nice view and pretty close to the city through a nice walking trail.
