"Against forgetting!" This forest should be considered Friedwald and meeting place - like Dachau.

For many years these remains of the Holocaust were well hidden in the forest between Waldkraiburg, Mühldorf am Inn and Mettenheim. All that remained of this mass grave was a bump in the forest floor and a beaten path between the grave and the forest path. Only survivors, victims, their relatives, school classes led by history-conscious teachers, and residents of nearby towns occasionally visited this place. It has now become a monument, one of the memorial sites that have now been built in Mühldorfer Hart. The way to the monument is shown from the nearby state road ST2091, so that even those passing by are advised that this forest has a history. At the beginning of the mass grave memorial is a concrete sluice. On the walls, visitors can find out which crimes were committed here during the Second World War. But also about the fact that there were good people who got the slave laborers something to eat. After the lock, a raised concrete path leads to the former mass grave. There are tree stumps cut off at an angle in a circle, which are supposed to symbolize the abruptly ended human life. There are other memorial sites in Mühldorfer Hart. These can be reached through the forest via the forest roads. The closest is the forest camp, which has now also been set up as a monument. Farther away in an easterly direction you will find the remains of the aircraft factory, which was built here with enormous concrete arches under the forced use of prisoners from the Dachau concentration camp, many of whom did not survive. After the war, the bodies of the murdered slave laborers were recovered from the mass grave and buried in cemeteries in the surrounding towns and villages.
