Trostberger Tor

I lived right next door Marktplatz 10, (the blue building 2nd floor) back in 1986 to 87. Kraiburg is a beautiful laid back town, and believe it or not, the Romans were there, and it's known to have been a settlement since 1800 BC in the bronze age! A great place to wander around and explore. Get in your medieval mind, and take the narrow staircase to the right between it and the gate (Tor), down past the first and second basement (a dukes wine cellar? Torture chamber? ;>) keep going straight past the buildings in the back, to the Reichinger weg (first little cross street), and hang a right. It turns into a walkway, and a creek will appear. Follow it past the gardens and vegetation, you may find hazel nuts growing, go ahead, but don't get greedy. Woods will appear to the right, an old mushroom hunting ground of mine, but don't pick any if you don't know them well, or else! If you do, always leave the root so more can grow. Just keep going following the walkway and the creek until it runs out, just before it does you can hang a right up the hill and in just a few feet you will hit Trostberger Straße and take it back into town. You will get to the very place you started, this time coming through the town gate. I hope you have 2 white pfennig (50% silver), or they won't let you in! Of course if you don't mind getting your shoes dirty, you can follow the creek for quite a while and hit Trostberger again, or go on until you get lost! You will find civilization sooner or later.
