My wife and I ate here twice, and had two totally different experiences. The first time we dined here, we ate outside under their covered patio, and had quite wonderful service. The food was impeccable. I had the veal piccata and my wife had spaghetti alla Matriciana. Our server was quite friendly despite our limited German language skills, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and food so much we decided to make a reservation for our anniversary coming up a few weeks later that month. On our return, our experience was much different. The food was still excellent, I had the calamari and my wife had the spinach ravioli. However, the service was vastly different, and quite subpar compared to our first experience. The server seemed insulted that we did not have good German language skills. For example, they did not light the candle on our table like they did for other couples who seemingly spoke fluent German. They also did not offer to explain to us the dinner specials for the evening like they did other couples they waited on near us, and they did not bring us the right bottle of water we asked for. We ordered still water and they brought sparkling. Although our German is not perfect, we both noted that we specifically asked for still, and did so quite well (since it was a phrase we had repeated in various ways throughout our stay in Germany). The server also some how confused our dessert order for tiramisu with coffee, and was quite rude when we tried to explain to them, both in German and English, that we had never ordered coffee, but had ordered tiramisu. Finally, when we were cashing out, I attempted to get change to leave an adequate tip despite the poor service. Instead of breaking the bills like I had asked them to do, the server took the bills out of my hand and then left before we could say anything. As much as the food was amazing both times, the service was hit or miss depending on who we had working with us and our/their language abilities.

The food is great, but prizes have been going up to a level thats way too expensive. Their pasta dishes are now at about 17 Euros!

Friendly staff, the food selection is exceeding your average Italian restaurant. The dishes were good and plenty. The chef/owner is co-publishing a foody magazine in Passau which features some signature dishes.
