An amazing display of glassware and historical glassware. Well worth a visit.

One of the must-sees in Passau. Especially interesting is the place, where it is located - floors of the old hotel with beautiful views and unusual floor plans

A beautiful museum that is a testimony to the determination of one man. As I understand it from the information provided the founder of the museum kept buying glass pieces until his wife finally told him to get them out the house and start a museum. We were in Passau and wanted to kill some time before the ship left so wandered in. I'm glad we did. Well worth the 7 Euro price of admission. The pieces are arranged by maker, so a bit hard to follow if you are trying to follow in chronological order. And only about half the pieces are labelled in English, but we spent a couple of hours wandering from display to display.

We had some tine to kill and decided to visit this museum. Wow! There was so much to see we eventually had enough but what we saw was amazing. Ir was a great use of our time and money.

You've got to be at least remotely interested in glass to go round here. There's a *huge* number of pieces and it's arranged by maker / theme. Its not a study of the history of glass making (so no material from Venice here as far as I can see) nor do they illustrate how the techniques are done. Its more a celebration of German / Bohemian (Czech) glassmaking from 1820 to 1930. The pieces range from delightful to (in my opinion) fairly gross, but the range of glass products is covered very thoroughly. Its a good hour or two if you like glass and at 7 EUR it's good value.
