Great atmosphere and very good service
I know the water tower well. At the time it was supposed to give way to a shopping center and an underground car park. - The investor attracted attention with strange tax models. - Mr. Winter, who was responsible for the operation of the water tower at the time, opened the door for me and I was allowed to look around It turned out that the tower knows a lot to hide. It is open to visitors every now and then. When climbing the tower, a little secret reveals itself. A visit is worthwhile, not just because of the view.
Imposing building, visible from the outside
Former water tower (1886-1979). Today monument / museum with guided tour (by appointment, by phone at Stadtwerke Wesel GmbH) and changing art exhibition "Art in the Tower". The guided tour I took part in was accompanied by exciting stories about the history of the water tower. The last stretch before the viewing platform is down a narrow spiral staircase, not for everyone, but the view from above is worth it!
